What 𗪵 means
It is glossed as “taste” or “flavor.” Li Fanwen’s Tangut–Chinese dictionary pairs it with Chinese 味, the character for taste; the two are translation counterparts, not alternate spellings.
The Tangut script was created around 1036 for Western Xia. It served state administration and Buddhist translations. Its forms drew on Chinese and Khitan writing traditions while developing as a distinct script, and it marked Tangut identity alongside Song China. The latest known Tangut inscription is dated 1502.
Historical writing; a natural fit for Tangut texts or discussion of the script.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗪵 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
