What 𗫉 means

It means entertainment or pleasure.

In the Ode on Monthly Pleasures, it names the pleasure associated with each month. Scholars disagree whether the poem's two forms use a special style for ceremonies or express the same ideas in ordinary Tangut.

The Tangut script was devised around 1036 to write the Tangut language of the Western Xia state. It served official, private, and religious texts and marked the state's identity. The earliest Tangut document identified in a historical survey is dated 1072; that dates the document, not the first appearance of 𗫉. The script remained in use after Western Xia fell. Its design drew on Chinese writing, but 𗫉 is Tangut.
