What 𗫐 means
It corresponds to 蘇 (Su) in one contract name. 𗫐 appears in a person's name in a Western Xia contract. This is a documented cross-script link for that name, not a universal translation.
The Western Xia court commissioned the Tangut script around 1036, during Emperor Jingzong's reign, for the Tangut language and state. It served government records, laws and contracts as well as Buddhist translations.
Western Xia fell in 1227, but Tangut writing continued under the Yuan dynasty. A Tangut Buddhist edition printed in 1247 is one example of its later use.
Is 𗫐 Chinese or Tangut?
It is a Tangut character. Tangut forms were modeled on Chinese writing, but Tangut is a distinct script. Unicode's name “Tangut Ideograph-17AD0” is a code-point label, not a translation.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗫐 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
