What 𗬵 means
Li Fanwen’s 2008 Tangut dictionary gives it the gloss “to float.”
Created in the eleventh century in Western Xia, the Tangut script served the state in records, translations, and political identity. It drew inspiration from Chinese writing but remained distinct. The earliest transmitted document is an official military record dated 1072. The Tangut state fell in 1227, but Buddhist and secular works continued; a later Tangut inscription is dated 1502.
Historical Tangut writing; this is a text character that needs a Tangut-capable font.
