What 𗬹 means

The Unicode label “Tangut Ideograph-17B39” identifies its code point, not its word meaning.

Tangut writing was devised in 1036 under Western Xia ruler Li Yuanhao as part of building the state and to write the Tangut language. It carried government records and Tangut translations of Buddhist scriptures and Chinese works.

Western Xia fell in 1227, but Tangut writing continued in Buddhist texts; the latest known inscriptions date to 1502. These dates trace the script’s history, not a reading of 𗬹.

Why does 𗬹 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
