What 𗮄 means
It means “to ask” in Tangut.
The Tangut script was modeled on Chinese writing, but it recorded Tangut rather than Chinese. Surviving texts include Buddhist scripture, laws, and translations from Chinese. A Tangut manuscript fragment associated with Khara-Khoto probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century.
Unicode’s algorithmic name identifies the encoded character; it does not give its meaning. Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary glosses 𗮄 as “to ask.” If the glyph appears as an empty box, the font lacks Tangut coverage; the character’s meaning has not changed.
Specialist and archival: it belongs in Tangut or Western Xia material, not casual “ask me” messages.
Without Tangut context, readers are unlikely to recognize its meaning.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗮄 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
