What 𗮧 means
It is linked to doubt or uncertainty in Tangut.
For Tangut entry 5781, Li Fanwen’s dictionary gives the Chinese gloss 疑 (“doubt” or “to doubt”). The Latin spelling ljị records a scholarly reconstruction of the character’s sound.
The Tangut script was created in 1036 to run the Western Xia state and translate Buddhist texts. It also carried official writing and translations from Chinese and Tibetan; a surviving manuscript example dates to the 12th or early 13th century.
Is 𗮧 Chinese?
No. It belongs to the Tangut script; 疑 is its Chinese gloss.
Tangut writing drew on Chinese and Khitan scripts but remained a distinct system. It continued after Western Xia fell in 1227; the latest known dated Tangut inscription is from 1502.
Outside Tangut texts, this reads as a specialist or archival reference.
If 𗮧 appears as a box, the font lacks Tangut coverage.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗮧 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
