What 𗮳 means
It means “testicles.” Scholars write its reconstructed reading as gur¹; the superscript 1 marks its tone.
The Tangut script was made for its language under Western Xia around 1036. It served official records, law codes, Buddhist works and books; the latest known inscription dates to 1502.
A 2022 study proposes a link to lʁú, the matching body-part word in the Guanyinqiao variety of modern Khroskyabs.
Historical and anatomical; outside a Tangut text, it can surprise.
Without context, its anatomical meaning can read as sexual.
