What 𗱇 means
It is glossed “east” and “rising sun” in Tangut. The script was created for the Tangut language under Western Xia, a Tangut-led kingdom, and promulgated around 1036–1037. It served government and Buddhist texts, drawing on Chinese writing and the script of neighboring Khitan communities while remaining distinct.
Tangut writing continued after Western Xia fell and into the Yuan and Ming periods; the last known inscription is dated 1502.
Historical and scholarly; its “east” gloss is not self-evident outside Tangut.
Sent alone, 𗱇 may look like an unfamiliar glyph rather than clearly mean “east.”

1Why does 𗱇 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
