What 𗱔 means
It has a reconstructed reading, but no settled one-word gloss.
Tangut script was developed around 1036 for the Western Xia state and its Buddhist canon. It drew on Chinese writing principles and nearby Khitan precedents in script-building, but it was a separate script for the Tangut language.
The glyph appears in the 12th-century Pearl in the Palm, a Tangut–Chinese glossary that matches words across the two languages. One proposal transcribes its reconstructed Tangut reading as xã¹ and links it to a Chinese word for “foolish”; another connects the entry to 㘅鐵, “horse’s bit.” The proposals do not settle a single gloss, so the surrounding entry matters.
