What does 𗱤 mean?
𗱤 means “to store” or “put away” in Tangut.
A Tangut–Chinese dictionary, which pairs Tangut words with Chinese glosses, gives 貯 as the Chinese equivalent for the Tangut word for “store.” 貯 translates the word; it is not another spelling of 𗱤.
The Tangut script was ordered in 1036 by Tangut emperor Li Yuanhao for government, Buddhist translation into Tangut, and a distinct identity from neighboring Song China. Its surviving texts include Buddhist, Confucian, military, legal, and literary works. A document from 1070/1071 may be the earliest known dated Tangut writing. A manuscript from the 12th or early 13th century and an inscription dated 1502 show later script use, not this character’s first appearance.
Someone sent me 𗱤—what am I looking at?
It points to a Tangut word in a historical writing system.
Inside a translated Tangut sentence, it means “store” or “put away.” If it arrives alone in a modern chat, ask for the surrounding text or a translation rather than guessing at the sender’s intent.
Archival or linguistic; in modern chat, the character feels like a deliberate reference to historical writing.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗱤 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
