What 𗳱 means
“Li” is a reconstructed reading, not a translation. L1122 is its Tangut dictionary index; the surrounding words show how to translate it.
The Western Xia ruler Li Yuanhao ordered the script’s creation in 1036 for state-building; compiling a Tangut Buddhist canon was one likely aim. Chinese characters inspired the design. Possible Khitan influence remains debated.
An official dispatch dated 1072 is the earliest transmitted Tangut text. Writing continued after Western Xia fell in 1227; an inscription from 1502 is late evidence.
Historical Tangut texts or specialist typesetting: apt; casual messages: opaque.
Without a Tangut-capable font, it may display as a blank box.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗳱 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
