What 𗵄 means
It begins one recorded Tangut spelling of mantou. One source uses 𘜭 next; another uses 𗚊. Both second characters are recorded as meaning “head.”
Is 𗵄 Chinese or Tangut?
It belongs to Tangut, a separate script. Western Xia created the Tangut script in 1036 for state use. Chinese writing and the neighboring Khitan people’s script influenced its design. Tangut texts include Buddhist, legal, translated and literary works; many surviving manuscripts are Buddhist. A manuscript from Khara-khoto, an archaeological site, dates to the 12th or early 13th century.
Historical Tangut writing; the mantou spelling belongs in Tangut-language or manuscript context.
A blank box usually means the active font cannot display Tangut.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗵄 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
