What 𗵇 means
Li Fanwen’s dictionary glosses 𗵇 as “road.”
The Tangut script was developed in 1036–1038 for the Western Xia (Xixia) state to write the Tangut language and serve government, education and translation. Its distinct writing system also expressed independence alongside Chinese writing.
After the state fell in 1227, Tangut writing continued in later communities and Buddhist texts. The Baoding dhāraṇī pillars—stone columns bearing Buddhist prayers—from 1502 are the latest known examples.
Historical Tangut writing; interpret it as text.
Its square form does not make it Chinese; 𗵇 is Tangut.
