Tangut character

What 𗵈 means

It is one character in the Tangut writing system.

Li Fanwen's Tangut dictionary indexes it as entry L0029. A pronunciation table reconstructs its reading as rir; that scholarly spelling records a sound, not an English gloss.

Developed under Western Xia rule, Tangut writing served government records, diplomacy, and Buddhist translations. Its compact square forms resemble Chinese writing, but it records another language.

The surviving written record spans 1036–1502; the surrounding Tangut sentence reveals the character's word-level role.
