What 𗷟 means
The Unicode label identifies it, but gives no Tangut word or translation.
Tangut writing was established in 1036–37 under Western Xia ruler Li Yuanhao for the kingdom’s language. It became the state script for records and translated Buddhist and classical books. The earliest surviving Tangut document is an official military record sent in 1072.
Chinese writing influenced Tangut forms, but Tangut is a distinct script; proposed Khitan influence remains a theory about the script, not a proven source for 𗷟. Tangut inscriptions continued after Western Xia fell in 1227; a stone pillar inscription dated 1502 is a later example.
