What 𗸫 means

In Tangut, it means theft or stealing. A Tangut reference work pairs it with Chinese 盗. This translation does not establish shared origins.

Why does 𗸫 have a code-point name?

Its Unicode label identifies the character; it does not translate it. In 1036, Western Xia commissioned Tangut writing for government and Buddhist scripture translation. A Tangut manuscript from Khara-khoto probably dates to the 12th or early 13th century. The script fell out of daily use after the 13th-century Mongol conquest.

Tangut writing followed the Khitan example of a separate state script and drew on Chinese writing principles.

A historical written character, not everyday conversation.

Its shape alone does not reveal its meaning.

Why does 𗸫 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
