What 𗺏 means

Unicode's label identifies the sign; it does not give its Tangut meaning.

Western Xia was a state in northwestern China; Tangut was its language. The square signs resemble Chinese characters, but the two scripts are separate.

Tangut served official, private, and Buddhist writing. The script continued under Yuan and Ming rule after Western Xia fell, becoming obsolete by the Ming dynasty's end.

Rediscovered in the late 19th century, Tangut was largely deciphered in the early 20th century, especially through N. A. Nevskij's work. A scholarly reconstruction transcribes 𗺏's reading as ꞏjɨj².

Why does 𗺏 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
