What 𗺩 means
It marks a sound-based Tangut transcription, not a translated idea.
Li Fanwen’s dictionary labels this entry “a transliteration” and indexes it as L2158; a reconstructed scholarly reading is transcribed as śia.
That transcription records the Tangut reading, not an English translation; this entry has no fixed English gloss.
When did Tangut writing begin?
Around 1036, under Western Xia’s first emperor.
Created as the state script of Western Xia, also called Xixia, Tangut served official, private, and religious writing.
After Western Xia fell, the script remained in use through the Yuan and Ming dynasties.
Why won't 𗺩 display?
A font without Tangut coverage can leave it blank.
If the glyph appears as an empty box or blank space, the active font may not include Tangut characters; a Tangut-capable font can render it.
Historical and specialist; it belongs in discussion of Tangut writing.
Chinese or Tangut? 𗺩 belongs to the Tangut script, a separate writing system.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗺩 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
