What 𗺪 means
The Unicode label identifies it; it does not translate it.
Catalogues assign 𗺪 references such as L2147 and Clauson #2851. Read its meaning in surrounding Tangut text; those numbers are not glosses.
Why was Tangut written?
It was created for the Tangut language.
The Xixia script was devised for Western Xia in 1036, drawing on Chinese and Khitan traditions; it served schools, official documents, Buddhist books, and inscriptions. It survived the dynasty’s fall in Buddhist monuments, including Baoding pillars dated 1502.
Historical and specialist; it fits discussion of Tangut writing or Unicode.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗺪 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
