What 𗺲 means
A Tangut dictionary glosses 𗺲 as “puncture vine.” That is a thorny plant, not an emoji.
Is 𗺲 Chinese?
No: it belongs to Tangut, a separate language and script.
The script became official under Li Yuanhao in 1036; some historical accounts trace its development to his father, Li Deming. It drew on Chinese writing and possibly neighboring Khitan scripts, while marking Tangut autonomy. It served government, Buddhist works, and translated books; Buddhist inscriptions continued after the state fell, including an example dated 1502.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗺲 show as a square?
A box can mean the current font lacks a Tangut glyph; use a Tangut-capable font to see it. That is a display fallback, not another character.
