What 𗻌 means
A Tangut dictionary gives it the sense “attach.” The dictionary links 𗻌 to Chinese 坿, a variant of 附; that gloss does not make 𗻌 Chinese or give it the Chinese character’s pronunciation.
How did the Tangut script begin?
It was designed around 1036 under Li Yuanhao, Western Xia’s ruler. The script gave the state a distinct writing system, including for a Buddhist canon.
Tangut appears in official, private, and religious writing: books, sutras (Buddhist scriptures), manuscripts, and inscriptions. Writing continued through the Yuan and early Ming dynasties; the latest examples date to the late 15th and early 16th centuries.
How do I type 𗻌?
Use a Tangut stroke-code input method for repeated entry. It can generate Tangut ideographs and components.
In a browser, a Tangut web font can render the character; another app may need an installed font with Tangut coverage. A missing-glyph box means the active font cannot display it. Different typefaces may draw the same character differently without changing its identity.
A historical, specialist character used in Tangut-language study, archives, and rare-character typography.
Chinese 坿 supplies the gloss; 𗻌 itself is Tangut.
