What 𗻣 means

A dictionary glosses it as a kind of grass.

Li Fanwen’s Tangut dictionary index lists it as entry 2793 and gives the scholarly reading khwa. This historical gloss does not identify a modern botanical species.

Tangut script was created around 1036 for Western Xia state-building and Buddhist texts. After the kingdom fell in 1227, Tangut continued into Yuan and Ming use before becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty. Its forms drew on Chinese writing, but Tangut is a separate script.

Why does 𗻣 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
