What 𗻪 means
𗻪 is glossed as “mile” in Tangut dictionaries.
The English gloss names a distance word; it does not establish a conversion to the modern mile. The Tangut script was devised in 1036 under the Western Xia (Xixia) state for official correspondence and to express a distinct Tangut identity. It also carried Buddhist translations, legal and secular texts; recorded use spans 1036–1502. A Tangut manuscript from Khara-khoto is tentatively dated to the 12th or early 13th century.
Is 𗻪 Chinese or Tangut?
It belongs to Tangut writing, not Chinese.
Chinese writing influenced Tangut's shapes and construction. Khitan scripts, another regional writing tradition, also served as a precedent. Tangut remained a distinct script for a different language.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𗻪 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
