What 𗼺 means
It means “to plant” in Tangut.
Li Yuanhao, ruler of Western Xia, commissioned the Tangut script around 1036 for state-building, Buddhist translation, and an identity distinct from Song China. Chinese writing inspired its forms but was not its ancestor; the neighboring Khitan people had made scripts earlier too. Tangut books included Buddhist and official texts, literature, and translations from Chinese. A document from 1070/1071 may be the earliest dated Tangut writing. As of 2025, Buddhist pillars dated 1502 are the latest datable Tangut material known.

1Why does 𗼺 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
