What 𗿺 means
It means the verb “to smoke out,” not the noun “smoke.” Unicode’s constructed name identifies the code point; it does not give the Tangut word’s meaning or pronunciation.
Tangut, also called Xixia, is a historical script for the Tangut language, once spoken in northwestern China. It was created in 1036 under Li Yuanhao, ruler of Western Xia, to support state-building and compile a Tangut edition of the Buddhist canon, a collection of scriptures. The script was distinct from Chinese writing but inspired by it; Tangut creators also followed their Khitan neighbors, who had made two scripts a century earlier. Surviving texts include Buddhist scriptures, Chinese works, translations from Tibetan, military treatises, and literature. This dates the script, not 𗿺.
