What 𘁂 means

Its Tangut word sense is “complete.”

The Tangut script was created under Western Xia’s first emperor around 1036. One leading explanation is that it served a Tangut Buddhist canon, a collection of Buddhist scriptures. It also carried Chinese religious, literary, military, and scholarly works in translation, and remained in use after Western Xia and under later dynasties.

A 12th-century Buddhist spell records 𘁂 as ꞏja² in a phonetic gloss, a note that records pronunciation.
