What 𘁕 means
“Two” or “second.”
Li Fanwen's Tangut–Chinese dictionary gives “two; second.” An older “second son” reading applies to a phrase with a separate character for “son,” not 𘁕 alone.
Devised around 1036 for Tangut, Western Xia's government language, the script adapted Chinese character forms to distinguish the state. It served official and religious writing, including Buddhist scriptures and translated Chinese classics. Writing continued after Western Xia fell in 1227, through the Yuan and early Ming; manuscripts and inscriptions survive into the early 16th century.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘁕 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
