What 𘂂 means
It means “to lose consciousness” in Tangut. Li Fanwen’s 2008 English index gives Tangut dictionary entry 5740 as “to lose conscience”; here the phrase means fainting, not moral blame.
Tangut took shape around 1036 for Western Xia state-building, a collection of Buddhist scriptures, and a distinct written identity. Later texts included religious, official, private, and translated secular works. A Khara-Khoto manuscript from the 12th or early 13th century anchors surviving script use, not this character’s origin. The script drew on Chinese and Khitan models but remained distinct.
