What 𘃟 means
It is a Tangut character, not an emoji. The Unicode label is an ID, not a translation.
The court ordered Tangut script in 1036 for correspondence; it later carried Buddhist scriptures. It marked Tangut state identity while borrowing Chinese writing principles and following a nearby Khitan court's example. A 1069/1070 court record shows administrative use; texts survived Xixia's fall in 1227.
Why does 𘃟 show as a box?
A box means the app lacks a Tangut font. As of 2025, a webfont can display it in a browser; other apps may need an installed font. Unicode 16.0 (2024) revised its glyph to show a dot that older charts omit, following a 2021 Tangut dictionary.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘃟 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
