What 𘈬 means
By itself, 𘈬 is glossed as “a skilled workman.”
In the documented Buddhist compound 𘈬𗦺, the pair means “nirvana”; that meaning belongs to both characters, not to 𘈬 alone.
Created about 1036 under Western Xia’s first emperor, Tangut was a state script for government and Buddhist texts, and a marker of distinct identity. It followed Khitan state scripts and was modeled on Chinese writing, but the scripts were mutually illegible. It fell out of use by the end of Ming.

1Questions people ask
1Why does 𘈬 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

𘈬\1822CWhy is 𘈬 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
