What 𘈪 means
It describes a pale, unhealthy-looking complexion.
A Tangut–Chinese dictionary glosses 𘈪 as “wan and sallow”: “wan” means pale or drawn; “sallow” suggests a yellowish, unwell look. The character alone cannot show whether a passage is literal or figurative.
The Tangut script began as state writing for the Western Xia kingdom in the 11th century. It carried state records and Buddhist translations; its earliest surviving document dates to 1072, and writing continued after the kingdom fell through 1502.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘈪 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
