What 𘤧 means
It marks a piece used to describe Tangut characters.
Tangut was the writing system of Western Xia. Unicode's component set lets scholars index Tangut characters and write an Ideographic Description Sequence (IDS), a notation showing how a character's parts are arranged. This component can label a piece in that analysis, but it is not a complete word with a standalone translation.
Where did Tangut writing take shape?
In the Western Xia state, alongside Buddhist book production.
Under Li Yuanhao, ruler of the medieval Western Xia state, the Tangut script was established in 1036. Its aims included expressing a distinct state identity and producing Buddhist books. Tangut Buddhist texts included Chinese translations. A manuscript found at Khara-khoto in Inner Mongolia, dated to the 12th or early 13th century, shows the script in book use.
The Sea of Characters, a Tangut dictionary, explained some full characters through pieces drawn from other characters; a piece could connect to its source character's meaning or sound. That method does not give 𘤧 one fixed translation.
Why does 𘤧 show as a box?
The font or app may lack a Tangut glyph.
𘤧 is text rendered by a font. If its Tangut glyph is missing, you may see a box or blank instead of the component.
Scholarly notation for indexing and describing Tangut characters.
Treat 𘤧 as an analysis piece, not as a whole Tangut word to translate.

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
