What 𘉪 means
𘉪 is a Tangut verb glossed “to slander.”
That is a dictionary gloss, not a complete interpretation of a message. The Unicode label “TANGUT IDEOGRAPH-1826A” is an algorithmic code-point name, not a translation.
The Tangut script was created about 1036 for Western Xia state-building. Its early state project included a Tangut Buddhist canon—a collection of Buddhist scriptures—and a written identity distinct from Song China; Tangut also served official, private, and religious writing.
Why does this character look Chinese?
Tangut has its own script, though many forms resemble Chinese characters.
The Western Xia court’s script project also followed an earlier precedent among the Khitan, a neighboring people who had created scripts of their own. This is a parallel in state script-making, not evidence that 𘉪 descends from a Khitan sign.
After Western Xia fell, Tangut writing continued in Yuan and Ming dynasty texts, including Buddhist material, before becoming obsolete by the end of Ming.
How do I type 𘉪?
Use a Tangut input method; ordinary keyboards have no dedicated key.
Documented routes include stroke-code input and phonetic Tangut input; the phonetic method uses scholarly reconstructions of Tangut sounds, not a modern spoken pronunciation.
If 𘉪 appears as a box, the selected font may lack Tangut coverage; the text can still contain the character.
A historical written verb: in a message by itself, its dictionary gloss cannot identify the sender’s target or intent.
One 𘉪 alone is not proof that the sender is accusing you.
