What 𘊸 means
It writes Tangut, a language once used in the Western Xia state.
The script drew on Chinese writing and developed alongside the Khitan people's own scripts, but remained distinct. A Unicode chart links 𘊸 to entry 3948 in Li Fanwen's 2008 Tangut–Chinese dictionary; that number identifies a record, not an English gloss.
After Western Xia fell to the Mongols in 1227, Tangut continued in official and Buddhist writing. It had fallen out of written use by the end of the Ming dynasty.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘊸 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
