What 𘋭 means
Its Unicode label identifies the encoded character, not its reading.
The Tangut script was created for the Tangut language. It drew on Chinese writing and the Khitan script, another historical writing system, but remained distinct.
The Western Xia kingdom developed it around 1036–1037 for Buddhist, legal, official, private, and manuscript texts. After it left state use, surviving texts became a subject of scholarship.
Why can 𘋭 look different in another font?
Fonts can change its drawing without changing its identity.
Tangut fonts may draw variant forms; a font without Tangut coverage may show an empty square.
