What 𘌞 means
It names the season autumn in Tangut. Tangut was spoken in the Western Xia kingdom in what is now northwestern China.
If someone sends 𘌞 alone, read it as a word, not an emoji reaction; add a short gloss for anyone who doesn’t read Tangut.
Why was Tangut writing created?
To write Tangut and mark Western Xia as a distinct kingdom. Ruler Li Yuanhao ordered the script around 1036; it adapted Chinese strokes and character-building methods to another language. It served official and religious texts. The Liao and Jin states also created Khitan and Jurchen scripts, parallel projects of state identity. Tangut writing continued after Western Xia fell in 1227, under Yuan and Ming rule; the latest known inscription is dated 1502.

1Why does 𘌞 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
