What 𘐧 means
It is a Tangut character; its label is not a translation.
Unicode's “Tangut ideograph-18427” is an inventory identifier, not an English gloss. The character's meaning comes from the Tangut word and passage where it appears; the label alone cannot tell you which word it represents.
Is 𘐧 Chinese or Tangut?
It belongs to the Tangut script, not Chinese writing.
In 1036, Li Yuanhao ordered Tangut writing as part of state-building. It supported a Tangut Buddhist canon (a collection of Buddhist scriptures) and a distinct identity from Song China. The script's forms were visually inspired by Chinese characters, but Tangut writing was not derived from Chinese.
Later texts used Tangut for Buddhist and Confucian works, encyclopedias, military treatises, and literature. Its history belongs to a wider medieval North Asian period of script-making that also included Khitan and Jurchen, separate writing systems.
Historical writing; the individual meaning depends on its Tangut text.
The Unicode label is a catalogue identifier, not a translation.
