What 𘑌 means
In Tangut, 𘑌 means “evidence.” A Tangut dictionary compiled by scholar Li Fanwen gives this gloss for the exact character.
The Tangut script was created around 1036 under Li Yuanhao, emperor of Western Xia, a medieval state in China. It served official writing and Buddhist texts and gave the state a distinct written tradition. Its design drew on Chinese writing principles and earlier Khitan state scripts; the Khitan also had their own state writing. After Western Xia fell in 1227, Tangut writing remained in use under the Yuan and Ming dynasties, then fell out of use by the end of the Ming.
