What 𘓴 means
It is glossed “to give birth” or “to bear” in Tangut.
Li Fanwen’s Tangut–Chinese dictionary lists it as entry 3300; that gloss is a Tangut word, not a ready-made birth announcement.
Why was Tangut writing created?
It served the Western Xia state and its cultural identity.
Western Xia commissioned the Tangut script in 1036 for state-building and cultural identity. It carried government records, Buddhist works, and Chinese texts translated into Tangut. The earliest transmitted document is dated 1072.
Without Tangut font coverage, the glyph may appear as a missing-character box.
Historical and academic; opaque in casual chat without Tangut context.
A birth-related dictionary gloss does not make this a general birth or pregnancy symbol.
