What 𘖝 means
A Tangut dictionary glosses 𘖝 as “lock.”
That historical translation does not establish it as a general-purpose lock icon.
Why does 𘖝 look like Chinese writing?
Tangut drew on Chinese writing principles but remained a separate script.
The script was devised around 1036, with Khitan writing as an earlier model.
Western Xia used it for government, a Tangut collection of Buddhist texts, and its distinct political identity. Manuscripts from Khara-Khoto, in present-day Inner Mongolia, show Tangut in use in the 12th or early 13th century. The script continued under the Yuan and Ming dynasties, then fell out of use by the end of the Ming dynasty.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘖝 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.

𘖝\1859DWhy is 𘖝 a box on my screen?
fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
