What 𘚒 means
Tangut (Xixia) writing was promulgated around 1036 under Western Xia. The court made it official to express a distinct state identity; scholars also link its creation to translating Buddhist texts into Tangut. The earliest securely dated document is the Record of the Guazhou Trial, from 1069 or 1070, though undated texts may be older. Tangut forms drew on Chinese writing conventions, while nearby Khitan scripts offered a precedent; it remained a distinct writing system. It served official, private, and religious writing and continued under Yuan and Ming rule after Western Xia fell.

fsymbols draws rare signs with its own fonts, so they show here even where your device has none. An app or website without such a font shows an empty box (□) or a question mark instead. Turn our fonts off to see each sign as your device draws it by itself: a box here means a box in your chats and documents too.
