What 𘚖 means
It marks a noun’s core role or a possessive link. A 1991 study calls it an “absolutive/possessive postposition”: a grammatical word placed after the noun it relates to. “Absolutive” means a core role in a clause.
The Tangut script was created around 1036 for Western Xia state-building, official writing, and a Buddhist canon in Tangut. The earliest securely dated Tangut document is dated 1069 or 1070. The script followed earlier Khitan state scripts and took visual and structural cues from Chinese characters while writing a separate language. It remained in written use under Yuan and Ming rule before becoming obsolete.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘚖 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Tangut block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
