What 𘚚 means
Use Tangut context; the Unicode label is not a gloss.
Unicode assigns the label by rule; it does not translate a Tangut word. Meaning comes from a Tangut text or dictionary.
Why was Tangut writing created?
Under ruler Li Yuanhao, the Western Xia court developed Tangut writing for government and Buddhist texts. Later books included Chinese classics and practical works.
The script continued in Yuan and Ming texts. Chinese writing influenced its structure, but Tangut remained distinct. Documented forms join or separate its components, so a Tangut font variant can display 𘚚 differently without changing its identity.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘚚 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
