What 𘝨 means
Use a Tangut input method. Xunpin is a dedicated Tangut input method with phonetic, stroke, and shape-based Four-Corner numeric entry; a font that supports Tangut is still needed to display 𘝨.
What does 𘝨 mean?
Its Tangut dictionary gloss is “time.” That is a starting point; the surrounding sentence supplies its precise sense and role.
The Tangut script was created around 1036 under Western Xia’s first emperor to build a distinct state identity and produce a Tangut edition of the Buddhist Canon, a collection of Buddhist sacred writings.
Tangut borrowed visual and compositional principles from Chinese writing without becoming Chinese; its creators also followed the example of two Khitan scripts created about a century earlier. A fragment of Tangut translations of Chinese anecdotes found among Khara-Khoto’s ruins in present-day Inner Mongolia is undated, probably from the 12th or early 13th century. After Western Xia fell to the Mongols, Tangut continued under Yuan and Ming rule, becoming obsolete by the end of the Ming dynasty; scholars study its surviving texts.
What if it arrives alone?
A lone glyph gives you its dictionary gloss, not the sender’s intent. In a Tangut passage, “time” is a useful starting point; in an isolated message, ask what the sender means.
Historical and specialist; it is best read in Tangut text or writing about Tangut.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘝨 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
