What 𘞅 means
The dictionary gloss is “flag”; its reconstructed reading is la¹, roughly “la.” The 12th-century Sea of Characters is a dictionary of Tangut writing.
Created around 1036 under the first emperor of the Western Xia kingdom, Tangut was a distinct script influenced by Chinese characters. It served government and legal records, literature, and the printing of Buddhist texts. After Western Xia fell in 1227, written Tangut continued for centuries.
It fits Tangut texts and historical or language study.
Without a Tangut-capable font, a device may show a box instead of the character.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𘞅 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
