What 𘞎 means
Li Fanwen’s Tangut–Chinese dictionary gives it the gloss “rake.” That means the garden tool.
Tangut was the script used to write the Tangut language. It was created around 1036 CE under the first Western Xia emperor and appeared in official, private, and religious texts. After Western Xia fell, Tangut remained in use through the Yuan and Ming periods before becoming obsolete.
Tangut’s square shapes can resemble Chinese writing, but Tangut is a distinct script unrelated to Han characters. “Rake” is a Tangut dictionary gloss, not a Chinese reading or a picture-based interpretation.
Why does 𘞎 show as a box?
A box means the font lacks a Tangut glyph. A font without Tangut coverage may show a box or leave the character blank. A Tangut-capable font can render it, though glyph styles can differ between fonts.
Different outlines can be font styles of the same character; a missing-glyph box signals absent font support.
How do I type 𘞎?
Rime Xunpin can enter it through phonetic, stroke, or four-corner input. Rime is a customizable input-method framework. Rime Xunpin’s documented input schema accepts reconstructed Tangut pronunciation, strokes, or a four-corner code based on stroke shapes; it requires a Tangut-capable font for display, so entry and rendering are separate.
Historical and scholarly in tone; it belongs in Tangut text or a clearly labeled script sample.
Do not read its square shape as Chinese meaning.

1Why does 𘞎 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
