Tangut Character for a Kind of Bird

5/9

𘴄 is a Tangut character for a kind of bird. Tangut was the language of Western Xia in medieval China; its script, modeled on Chinese writing, was introduced around 1036 for state records and books and stayed in use into the 16th century. A 2019 Unicode proposal split the bird and “day after tomorrow” entries, which dictionaries had printed with one glyph; they now have distinct forms, 𘴄 and 𗾥.

Why does 𘴄 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
