What 󠆎 means
Nothing on its own.
Variation selectors let plain text request a glyph form when font selection or rich-text styling is not enough. A Han character followed by a registered selector forms an ideographic variation sequence (IVS). The IVD defines that pair's effect; the same selector can act differently after another base character.
The first IVD collection, Adobe-Japan1, was registered on 2007-12-14; more collections followed for scholars, governments, and publishers with different glyph needs.
Technical text-formatting character; it adds no conversational tone by itself.
The selector number does not name a glyph; the full registered pair determines its effect.

Questions people ask
1What if an app ignores the selector?
It should show the base character normally and leave the selector invisible. Unsupported or invalid pairs are treated as if the selector were absent.
