What ⧬ means
The notation using it defines the operation. MathML is a format for writing math on webpages. Its operator dictionary classifies ⧬ as infix, meaning it sits between mathematical terms. That tells you its position in an expression; the notation supplies the operation.
Some astrological glyphs for Eris, the dwarf planet, resemble ⧬, but they are separate signs. The Hand of Eris comes from Discordianism, a satirical movement centered on the goddess Eris. It predates the dwarf planet’s 2005 discovery; Discordians proposed it for the planet after its 2006 naming. Do not substitute ⧬ for an Eris glyph.
Technical and notation-dependent; the formula supplies its operation.
